I am doing a final year project for my marketing degree and it is basically a project associated with marketing. it is reccommended to use a business, particularly a business you can comminicate with to get the answers to questions you may need but is it not essential to use a business. i am nots ure whether to put ‘and businesses’ to the end of the title, anyone any advice?

Hello,
yes the idea is good, but do you think you will be able to analyse and then report on the complete marketing industry in the time you have got?
Yes, use Business! not too many businesses or select a sector/industy in which the Businesses operates.

cant you narrow it down on say, Social websites like facebook, myspace, twitter etc,or business forums or Social media like Radio, local News papers etc?
find which media best helps to communicate with the business/ sector/ industry you are looking to help and then examine the impact.
hope this helps!

Is it worth it to have Look Smart and Yahoo pay per click?

Posted under pay per click by admin

7 years ago we listed with Look Smart and have been with Yahoo pay-per-click for about 4 years. We are on a tight budget and want to discontinue this service. Our clicking budget is not huge, will this hurt our business?

I am assuming that our name is out on different search engines.

Thank you!

Your overall link profile of your site will go down, which may cause your natural organic rankings to go down.

you can check your sites rankings in many ways. The simplest way is to just type www.domainname.com into the search box.

If you want to see which pages of your website are in google’s index you would type
site:domainname.com

Supplying your domain name would be a great help.

Either way if I had 1 choice for PPC, I would choose Google Adwords. And if you can’t compete due to budget restrictions I would focus my efforts on search engine optimization and internet marketing.

Their is an initial cost to do this, but this will give you some options. You could have an SEO consultant just give you guidance and you or your webmaster could implement the changes/suggestions.

You could give the SEO your monthly PPC budget to start building your online presence.

If you can’t do that I would recommend purchasing two products that will increase your knowledge enough to perform your own seo.

I personally use both of these products and am only offering these as an option.

Just some ideas

Good luck

What is the best source for webmaster education and search engine optimization education that is affordable?

I have a new website at

http://www.specialhomeproducts.com

Check it out! I have many new home decor and office decor products, as well as great gift ideas for every special occasion….just need ideas as to how to market this without it costing an arm and a leg….am working on a limited budget. The idea is to MAKE money with it, NOT SPEND every dime I have just to get it marketed and ranked on the search engines. If anyone out there has resources for excellent internet marketing, that is reputable, NOT SCAMS, and is easy to understand for the beginner, let me know! I know amazon.com has several books you can get, such as "search engine optimization for dummies", or "keywords for dummies"…may have to go with that for now, to save on my expenses…already put TOO much into this project to give up on it….getting several hits a day to the site, but still no significant sales….any help I can get out there would be greatly appreciated. debs3

You can do it for free no problem but it will require a little time on your part.

First you need to get two books from the library:

Designing with Web Standards http://www.zeldman.com/dwws/

Don’t make me think http://www.sensible.com/buythebook.html

Reading and understanding these two books alone will put you ahead of 99.9% of webdesigners.

Then you need to read a free, reliable and up to date SEO tutorial. There are only two of these on the web that are considered worth reading.

That’s it! Read, learn and implement.

Good luck!
