Lots of colleges are starting to offer Internet Marketing degrees. Do you think those are worth anything in the real world? What do you think the employment opportunities are for people with those degrees? What do you think the future looks like for them?
With the way internet marketing is evolving I would say it is all pretty promising. I would start now too. I am into IM but I just work for myself and run my own business. I just learned from buying guides and reading forums. You could probably make more than having a job. Also that is a lot of money for a degree when it could all go to a solid business online.

As long as you live in a Technological hub (San Jose, Seattle, Austin, etc.) that degree might hold some value, but jobs will be very scarce. Marketing degrees as a whole are hit or miss.
