Attract Local Business with Pay Per Click

by admin on June 1, 2010

If your clients are local, will using the internet to advertise to them be of any use? A lot of people mistakenly believe that it won’t.

But you see, in this day and age, most people now use the Internet and they will further be enticed to buy from you or avail of your services when they know that you have expanded your store’s reach online. More so, ads over the Internet is a very cost-effective way to source new customers who have not heard about your business.

Beginning advertising campaigns online, particularly pay per click, may be a challenge. But here are some tips and tricks to follow in order to build your campaign easily. Start by opening a Pay Per Click account from any popular and well established ad vendors such as Google Adwords.

Follow the steps presented when you open your account. After you open your account, you can now start creating your first AdWords campaign. The key in pay per click is to get your clicks at a very low cost, and this is done by correctly setting up your keyword list as well as your location settings. To do this, it is necessary to set up two campaigns ? first for the local and for national.

After setting up the two campaigns you can now start and create your ad. There are plenty of tips and guides to making short and catchy ads or you can also ask someone to write the ad for you if you are not so keen about your writing skills.

Better still, enlist the help of a proven PPC expert who has developed a quality system to ensure you get value for money. You also need to have a keyword list, and this step is the main key to get targeted and low cost leads. To do this, you need to create a keyword base list by listing keywords or phrases that people use in order to search businesses like yours.

For example, for Italian ice cream, you might use the terms Italian Ice Cream, Gelato, Gelati, Italian Gelato and the like. You can list lots of keywords and refine the list as you identify the once that aren?t converting. Now, with these keywords already set, you then need to turn your list into a local one by listing the locations that your business serves and then combine the two lists.

The final list has to contain all possible combinations from the first and second list. You can make use of data base tools for this task. After this, you can finalize your settings and set the locations for your ads to appear, and set your maximum cost per click and daily budget ? even the exact hours you wish your advertisements to appear. Now you can run your campaign!

Don’t forget to maintain your campaign and log in every now and then. By doing so, you get to see which keywords do well and which keywords don’t. Thus, you can remove those keywords and add others as you see fit.

The bartender waitress at a local pub is rude to me for absolutely no reason.?
I frequent this establishment about once a month and find her angry – acting when I go in and sit down. She slam things around and talks very angrily instead of in a welcoming manor . No, she seems very pleasant and jolly around the other customers . Not, to sound hauty or egotistical , I am a male that usually attracts a lot of attention from women. It’s crazy , but, they almost always attract to me. Dose that have anything thing to do with it? I am always nice to anyone I talk to and her also. And, I’m quiet and mind my own business and I’m not in their customer " click ".
Shall I just quit going there ? I would hate to give her the satisfaction.

A little dismayed , Richard

Some people hate others for no reason.
Just keep going there. Don’t give her the satisfaction.

Next time you go in there and find her acting this way simply say something along the lines of "Smile, it’s not that bad". Or something along those lines. Maybe she doesn’t even realize that she does it around you. Who cares the reason, if the situation at hands continues I would not quit going there. I would simply have a chat with the manager if her attitude doesn’t change. Whether she likes you or not, your a CUSTOMER. She has no right to be rude to you for no reason! Maybe it’s time she finds another job.

You have every right to keep going. Kill her with kindness.

Are you sure you’ve not crossed paths before? Are you sure it’s just when you’re there?

You could always approach her manager. It’s inappropriate behavior as a server. If I was her manager, I’d pull her aside and remind her what her job is…

I’ve dealt with many many customers whom I do not like, and I don’t think I’ve ever made any of them feel they are not welcome. It’s how I made money, for goodness sake!

Richard,
If you are a positive person who generally likes other people, it’s a bit disconcerting when someone takes a disliking to you.
However – you can rest assured that the world is full of massively screwed up people, in addition to the wonderful ones. My guess is, you have given her absolutely no reason to be rude, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t found an irrational one anyway.
Perhaps you look like a boyfriend that cheated on her. Perhaps you look like the brother she had a falling out with, or the father that abused her or the football player in high school that wouldn’t give her the time of day.
She may actually like you and in a twisted mental path of insecurity, she is handling rejection by doing it first and vehemently.
How you handle her is up to you. You could kill her with kindness and see how she reacts. You could also try being extraordinarily rude in a funny way. Smile and say "good freaking morning to you as well my dear. Hope your damn day was nice." You could totally ignore her bad behavior and it will eat at her if she isn’t getting to you.
My guess is she’s a highly insecure, passive-aggressive woman with some issues.
If you like the place, I wouldn’t rule it out due to one low level employee, but if it were me, I wouldn’t be a heavy tipper in her case.

Oh Richard, you’ve answered one other question so far and you lectured the person on their spelling and punctuation and told her she appeared to be ‘vastly uneducated’. Are you quite sure you didn’t do something similar to this waitress?

Complain to the manager or owner or find another pub.

She’s probably hostile to you because she thinks you are attractive and would never give her the time of day. Perhaps you remind her of being teased at school by an attractive guy she liked who made fun of her. Either way just continue to be friendly and realize she might have low self confidence when it comes to men.

She is probably sick of her job

and she doesn’t even realize she is taking it out on you

or she probably thinks you will listen to her problems.

idk.

Either:

1. You never made a pass at her but she has seen you making passes at women all the time and she feels slighted. You need to make a pass at her.

or..

2. You made an obnoxious pass at her when you had too many to drink and you never apologized for it. She is mad at you for the pass and not getting an apology.

Now you just have to figure out which is correct.

Maybe she is attracted to you. Sometimes people behave the opposite way they feel when strongly attracted.

I am sure you can win her round – just be extra nice to her.

If she was/is drawn to you she may have taken your ‘overlooking’ or ‘ignoring’ her on a previous occasion when you simply didn’t notice her and has taken it to heart

I have been in a similar position and even though I was extremely attracted to a woman – she said I would give her very dirty looks when I was gazing at her and it really unnerved her. Kinda odd cos I was looking at her thinking "Wow you’re gorgeous"

We got together and were together 2 years

By the way I turned out gay. If you are so attractive, would you like to go out on a date?

*wink*

I got this one figured out. She got jilted or done wrong by some handsome dude. Now, any handsome dude that comes her way is going to get treated with pretty harsh treatment because she is going to pay back a handsome dude with what he deserves because one treated her that way. Sound weird ? You will get to know women and know what to expect in the future. Then when you do they will change all of the rules and responses and you will have to figure out a whole new set of "What to Do’s and What Not to Do’s." I ain’t gonna be here to coach you next time so you are gonna just have to figure it out for yourself next time. Good Luck !

If there’s another place nearby, why spend your hard-earned money to be treated badly?

I’m assuming that the first time she served you you tipped, right?
