Do you have a Blog? If you already have a blog, then here are some examples. SEO is finding good keywords with low competition. You can do this by going to Google Adsense Keyword Tool. Put in whatever topic you are trying to market. For example: Fishing. This tool would give you numerous keywords to use, tell you what the competition is, and how many searches are done using the listed keyword.

Once you find your keyword/s that you want to use, then you make posts on your blog using those keywords. The keywords need to go in the title, heading, and in the body of your post. Utilizing this technique helps the search engines find your blog.

In addition to this SEM is the same as SEO and some other ways of doing this are:

Article Marketing
Link Exchanges
Comments on other Blogs
Posting in Forums
Etc., Etc.

There are a lot of things involved with this tactic, but necessary to be successful in the online world.

In general, it means doing things to your site and around the web to increase your search engine rankings.

Typically, people only go to the sites that show up in that first page of returns, about the first 10 or so. The goal is to get your site ranked high enough in search engine ratings for your subject matter to break into that top 10 list.

People do this by optimizing their site for search engines, getting the links to their sites out on other webpages or directories, etc…
